Adam Pelty teaching ballet class to four Billys. National tour of Billy Elliot - The Musical

Mr. Pelty is currently associate professor of Musical Theatre at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, South Carolina. He has served on the faculties of Interlochen Center for the Arts and Ithaca College, and has been a guest or adjunct at many Universities across the country, including NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

 

Adam was Founder and President of Moveable Arts, a unique education company focused on bringing high achieving students together with professionals in the Broadway community for advanced workshops and retreats. He also was the Founding Creative Director for the Rochester Broadway Theatre League's Summer Stars Broadway Bootcamp in Upstate New York.

Mr. Pelty began his teaching career serving as a Guest Artist for Interlochen Arts Academy in Northern Michigan. While maintaining a busy performance schedule in New York and the regions, other guest teaching jobs became more frequent, a solid private coaching business developed and when not performing, residencies became a normal part of each season. After finishing a fifteen-month stint as Resident Choreographer for Billy Elliot- The Musical in 2013, he accepted a tenure track position with Coastal Carolina University.

In Summer 2018, he served as Director of Barrington Stage Company's Musical Theatre Conservatory.
